Practical, visual ultrasound learning tools that help sonography and medical students build confidence, strengthen image-acquisition skills, and turn scanning concepts into action.
Learn to identify the anatomy, landmarks, orientation, and image features you need to recognize before and during scanning.
Step-by-step guidance helps learners connect anatomy, landmarks, probe movement, and image recognition—so they know what to try next when scanning gets difficult.
Practical tools reinforce image acquisition, troubleshooting, and self-assessment so learners can practice with greater purpose and confidence.

Purpose & Plane is being built with students, not just for students. If you’re a sonography student or recent graduate, join our prototype testing community and help us create practical learning tools that address the challenges students actually face.
Have questions about Purpose & Plane? Here are a few things to know as we build, test, and grow our ultrasound education resources.
Purpose & Plane creates practical learning resources for sonography students, recent graduates, and medical students learning to connect anatomy with ultrasound image acquisition.
Our resources focus on the gap between knowing what you need to scan and knowing how to get there—using landmarks, image recognition, scanning guidance, troubleshooting, and self-assessment.
Our first resources are currently being refined and prepared for launch. Follow Purpose & Plane for product announcements and availability.
Prototype testers are sonography students and recent graduates who voluntarily try selected learning tools and provide feedback to help us improve them before wider release.
